The small town of Alamor is surrounded by the highlands of the canton of Puyango and a nearby petrified forest that dates back to the Cretaceous period. Coffee has been an integral part of this community's culture for more than a century, and this historical connection makes for a very traditional approach to coffee production. The 150 small-scale producers grow traditional varietals that are then sun-dried on patios. While the average producer is about 60 years old, the younger generations are beginning to take over as premiums for quality are making coffee farming a viable livelihood once again.

In the cup look for rich notes of plum, custard, and drinking chocolate.
