The Mutheka Farmers Cooperative Society (FCS) supports more than 5600 active farmer members and operates 6 full-time washing stations, or “factories”, in Nyeri County. This offering consists of coffees from 427 farmers contributing to the Kiandu Factory, located in Karundu on the southern part of Mt. Kenya near the Kagumo river.
Despite utilizing much of the same equipment and techniques as other coffee mills in the area, the attention to detail from both the farmers and the mill itself has made coffee from Kiandu some of Kenya’s most highly sought after.
Look for balanced and juicy notes of peach, white tea, and elderflower in the cup.
