The canton of Puyango, located in the province of Loja in southern Ecuador, is home to the indigenous Paltas culture and community. Its people have a long revered agricultural history that extends to present day specialty coffee production. This offering is a selection of several of the highest quality microlots from producers in the El Alamor group. The collective name Meliponas was chosen for the local honeybee of the same name, which feed from the farmers’ coffee flowers and aid in pollination, while also providing an additional revenue stream through honey production.

In this coffee, look for sweet notes of black cherry, brown sugar, and toffee.
